Empowering underprivileged adolescents and youths in digital literacy and IT skills
Enabling young people with computer literacy and digital skills to use technology is pivotal to bring about positive changes in their lives in the 21st century.
YouthInvest Foundation runs Digital Literacy Centres (DLC) for underprivileged youths from rural and urban areas to equip them with digital literacy and computer skills. Digital literacy and computer skills can potentially improve the productivity of young people, enhancing their employment and earning potential leading to a better future.
DLCs provide short-term courses that enable adolescents and youths to learn basics of computer, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, as well as use of internet for day-to-day operations including finance, social media, access government schemes and benefits, etc.
Future plans include offering other professional courses such as Desktop Publishing, Digital Marketing, and Tally Pro.
YouthInvest digital literacy programme has covered 405 adolescents and youths from rural West Bengal and Jharkhand till March 2022.
